How I turn your idea into reality
Technology should make your life simpler, not harder. Here are the tools I can build for you.
Websites
A site that opens fast, reads well on a phone, and that you can update without calling anyone.
Ecommerce
A shop that sells while you sleep, and that you can run on your own the next morning.
Custom software
For when the off-the-shelf tool does not quite do the one thing you actually need.
MVP
For when you would rather not bet the whole budget right away: the minimum version needed to see if the idea holds up.
Apps
Your business inside a phone, for your customers or for the people who work with you.
AI integrations
An assistant that knows your documents and answers for you, even at three in the morning.
Automation
Those two hours of copy and paste every Monday morning: we make them disappear.
Recent work
Five recent examples, different in type and size. Click through to see how each one is built.
- Ecommerce
iLoveFoto
The digital shift of a long-running photo lab: prints and photo books you can buy in a few steps, shipped anywhere in Italy.
Open the project - Software
LeadPyper
Software built for people chasing new clients: it finds local businesses, analyses their websites and runs the whole deal from one screen.
Open the project - Website
Autocentro Ottavilla
The site for a Rome workshop that specialises in Renault and Dacia: clear information, services up front, and service-booking with no time wasted.
Open the project - Ecommerce
Merceria da Pina
A long-running Nettuno shop, open since 1985, brought online: underwear and haberdashery you can buy with the same promotions as the physical store.
Open the project - Software
SmartOrder Photo
Software for photo shops: customers upload high-resolution photos, choose formats and quantities, and the order lands ready for print.

How we work together
Four steps. None of them starts with you signing a quote in the dark.
I work out what you actually need
Half the time the first idea is not the one that solves the real problem. I would rather work through it with you now than notice once the work is done.
You see it before I build it
You get an interactive prototype (or a navigable preview), not a static PDF to imagine. If something does not convince you we change it at this stage, where changes cost nothing.
I build with the doors open
You follow the work on a private link while I do it. No two months of silence and a surprise at the end.
I hand you the keys
I walk you through how to manage it all on your own, slowly, with a recorded video tutorial you can rewatch whenever you like. And for any future doubt, I stay available.
What you are left with
At the end of the project I do not just hand over a link and wave goodbye.
- The project live, tested and ready to use01
- Every account, in your name02
- The source code and full ownership03
- A video tutorial to manage it all on your own04
- Post-launch technical support, to get going without the stress05
A few numbers
Not here to impress: just a quick way to get a sense of how I work.
100%
Code that belongs to you
The source code and every account stay yours, no exceptions: no lock-in, no dependency on me to keep moving forward.
9years
Years of experience
I bring visual design and technical development together. No middleman: I craft the interface, write the code and integrate the AI.
< 24h
Average response time
Write to me, and you'll get a reply in under one working day. No endless waits or black holes.
Questions I get a lot
The same ones you would ask, with the answer I would give on the phone.
How much does it cost?
It depends on what you need, and it would be dishonest to throw a number at you now. After the first call I send a quote with a fixed price: if the work then turns out to be longer than expected, that is my problem.
How long does it take?
A website a few weeks, software a few months. But what matters is that I tell you on the first call, not after three weeks of silence.
Will I be able to update it myself?
Yes, and that is rather the point. You get a simple panel and a recorded video covering the things you will actually use. If you would rather not touch it, I handle it.
Do you work on projects that already exist?
Often. There is already something, it half works, and nobody has touched it in a year. I look at the state it is in and tell you honestly whether it is worth fixing or rebuilding.
What happens after it goes live?
I do not disappear. The things that need adjusting only come to mind once the site has been in real use for a few weeks, and that is normal: we stay in touch for exactly that.
Do you work remotely?
Yes, and it works well: we talk when it is useful and you follow the work live anyway. And if you are around my area, somewhere between Nettuno, Latina and Rome, I am happy to meet for a coffee for the first chat.

A little about me
I'm Umberto Ottaviani, designer and developer. The part of my work I love most is the exact moment an interface stops being just a pretty portrait on a screen and becomes a tool that genuinely works.
I work with small businesses, professionals and teams who need a tool built around them and explained in plain language, start to finish — with all the time it takes to do it properly.
Design is how it looks, code is how it works. To me they're the same thing: there's no real beauty in a product that doesn't work flawlessly.
Let's talk about your idea
Even if right now it is a vague idea in two lines. A person answers, not a form.
